DSWD is one of the few government agencies that has painstakingly honed its ability to create a core of competent specialists as part of its Knowledge Management (KM). This has drawn the Civil Service Commission’s (CSC) interest to seek the Department’s assistance in benchmarking its process as basis for the Commission’s management of its Knowledge Experts. On 7 September 2023, CSC’s Integrated Records Management Office composed of Acting Director III Jilven T. Amar, Administrative Officer V Sheila N. Evidente, and Administrative Officer III Raymund G.

The DSWD Field Office XI through its Social Welfare and Development Learning Network (SWDLNet) held its Social Welfare and Development (SWD) Forum cum Research Congress last 25 April 2023 at the World Palace Hotel, Ecoland, Davao City. This activity is aligned with the steering function of the Department that provides technical assistance to partners and stakeholders executing programs on SWD and Social Protection. On the other hand, the Research Congress was aligned with the role of the Department as monitor on the implementation of SWD legislations.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) - through its professional learning institute the DSWD Academy, has recently concluded the first batch in a series of training on Case Management. The course “Training on Social Work Case Management: Enhancing Working with Individuals” was held from 19 - 23 June 2023 at the Social Welfare and Development Center for Asia and the Pacific (SWADCAP) with 31 social workers from the local government units (LGUs) nationwide.

As part of its efforts to bring social protection programs and services closer to its beneficiaries, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) launched another facet of the Information Caravan on Thursday, June 15 in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

In partnership with its Field Office II, this year’s Information Caravan was aimed at assisting in the DSWD’s performance target of ensuring the functionality of the Local Social Welfare and Development Offices in the Cagayan Valley Region.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the World Bank’s West Africa Unique Identification for Regional Integration and Inclusion (WURI) jointly conducted a learning exchange on the Philippines’ social protection programs at the DSWD Central Office last June 9 (Friday).
