Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Benchmarks the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Knowledge Management System

On June 7, 2024, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) held a virtual benchmarking session with the Department of Social and Welfare Development's (DSWD) Knowledge Management (KM) system supervised by the Social Welfare Institutional Development Bureau (SWIDB). The virtual session was attended by three (3) SEC staff led by Knowledge Management Officer IV Ms. Portia Gema A. Abad, and six (6) SWIDB-KMD staff led by Knowledge Management Officer-In-Charge, Ms. Norilix M. Razalan.

124 Students of Two (2) Universities Explores DSWD

A total of 124 students from Batangas State University in Region IV and the University of Nueva Caceres – Association of Political Science from Region V recently deepened their understanding of social welfare and development through the knowledge sharing session focused on providing orientation on the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on 24 and 30 April 2024.

DSWD Consults with 930 Local Government Units (LGUs) to Improve Service Delivery

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Social Welfare Institutional Development Bureau (SWIDB) conducted consultation-workshops with 930 Local Government Units through the Local Social Welfare and Development Offices (LSWDOs) covering the provinces, cities and municipalities. Three sets of consultations were participated by LGUs coming from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao island clusters, which were conducted on 1-3, 15-17 and 22-24 April 2024 at the Widus Hotel, Clark Pampanga.

BANGLADESHI LEARNING VISIT: DSWD Leads in Shock Responsive Social Protection

The Government of Bangladesh reprised its engagement with the Department of Social Welfare and Development with a Learning Visit last 24 February 2024. The objective of the visit was to observe and understand the best practices that have made the Department’s social security program become adaptive and shock-responsive. The 9-person visiting group was led by Md. Mahmudul Hossain Khan, Bangladesh Secretary for Coordination & Reforms, and included Secretaries of the Ministries of Women and Children Affairs and Disaster Management and Relief. Ministry of Women and Children Affairs.

The DSWD KM Portal is a dynamic facility founded to promote the development and sharing of knowledge within the DSWD and its partners. The Portal has vast collection of DSWD Knowledge Products (KPs) and other learning resources on social welfare and social protection.
