DSWD Academy Promotes Knowledge Management During Benchmarking of DOLE Regional Office XI

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the DSWD Academy hosted a Knowledge Sharing Session on Knowledge Management (KM) as part of the benchmarking for the 15 participants from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office XI from 19-20 February 2025 at the DSWD Academy facility in Taguig City. The event aimed to enhance DOLE Regional Office XI's KM practices by learning from DSWD's successful implementation of KM systems and mechanisms as a core strategy to enhance the DOLE Region XI’s existing knowledge management practices.

DSWD, BDO Foundation and BSP Collaborates for Financial Education

The Financial Education Learning Sessions, Demonstration, and Writeshop for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) was conducted on 12-14 February 2025 at the Belamy House, Makati City with 15 participants from the DSWD. This activity was an initiative through the partnership with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Banco De Oro Foundation that aims to enhance financial literacy and empower both DSWD personnel and beneficiaries.

DSWD Highlights Integrated Social Welfare Programs to Maldives Officials

The Department of Social Welfare & Development continues to showcase its leadership in social protection in Asia and the Indo-Pacific Region through the sharing of its best practices with the visiting officials from Kulhudhufushi City, Republic of Maldives on 12 February 2025. DSWD Academy Hosts ASEAN Social Work Consortium Workshop to Strengthen the Profession in the Philippines

In line with strengthening and promoting the Social Work Profession in the Philippines, the Department, through the DSWD Academy, convened the 9 member organizations of the  ASEAN Social Work Consortium Philippines  in a consultation and workshop planning held on 3-7 February 2025 at Oracle Hotel and Residences, Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.  Highlights of the activity include the discussion of the proposed Mutual Recognition Agreement for countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN),  proposed amendments to the Magna Carta Law for Social Workers, plans for 2025-2028 and

Dialogue with Social Work Students: Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice

As part of its commitment to strengthening and promoting the social work profession in the Philippines, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Social Welfare Institutional Bureau (SWIDB) successfully held a significant event entitled “Dialogue with Social Work Students”, at the University of Cebu, Banilad, Cebu City last 24 January 2025 with almost five hundred (500) social work students actively participating both online and onsite.

DSWD Academy Hosts Knowledge-Sharing Session for USC-JPIA Students

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Academy recently concluded a dynamic two-day knowledge-sharing session with  150 third and fourth-year accounting students and faculty from the University of San Carlos-Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA)  last 9 and 10 January 2024 at the DSWD Auditorium. The event provided participants with an invaluable opportunity to observe and engage with the accounting systems of one of the country’s largest government agencies, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world business operations.

The DSWD KM Portal is a dynamic facility founded to promote the development and sharing of knowledge within the DSWD and its partners. The Portal has vast collection of DSWD Knowledge Products (KPs) and other learning resources on social welfare and social protection.
