The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Academy conducted the Training on Social Case Management for Adoption and Alternative Cases in partnership with the National Authority on Child Care (NACC) on  11-15 November 2024 for 30 social workers coming from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao at the Development Academy of the Philippines Conference Center, Brgy. Sungay East Tagaytay City. The objective of the training is for Social Workers to be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to demonstrate effective social work case management in adoption and alternative child care, fostering positive outcomes for individuals and families involved. 

The Standards and Capacity Building Group Undersecretary Denise FB Bernos-Bragas, MD, and Bureau Director Atty. Justin Caesar Anthony D. Batocabe led the conduct of training in partnership with the NACC headed by Usec. Janella Ejercito Estrada Executive Director.

The discussions included the Relevant Laws that Govern Adoption in the Philippines; Strengths-Based Social Work Intervention and Case Management: Planning and Intervention Phase in the Case Management of Children; Monitoring, Evaluation, Termination, and After Care; The Use and Importance of Home Study Report/Child Study Report Perspective: Different Tools and Approaches; Understanding the Client: Child's Bio -Psychosocial Assessment on Medical Perspective: Understanding the Client: Child's Bio -Psychosocial Assessment on Social Aspect Pre-placement Preparation: Preparation of Child and Adoptive Parents for Adoption and Caring for Carers: Mindfulness.
