A total of 108 students with 6 faculty members from Bicol Uinversity College of Social Sciences and Philosophy in Region V, studying Social Work, recently enhanced their understanding of social welfare and development through a knowledge-sharing session focused on the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) held on 22 November 22,2024.
The purpose of the visit was to provide the students with firsthand exposure to various social welfare programs and services, as well as insights into the role of social workers within the department. Through interactive discussions, the students gained valuable insights into DSWD's mandate, vision, mission, values, structure, and the programs and services available to the poor, vulnerable, and marginalized sectors of society.

He encouraged the students to consider joining the Department, highlighting the opportunity to make a positive impact on society, as social workers are catalysts for change.
