Aside from trainings, what are the other modes of interventions along learning and development?

Apart from training, other modes of interventions that are usually being conducted to support and facilitate learning and development are seminars, workshops, skills enhancement sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities. In general, these activities are systematically designed to increase and build the knowledge, skills, and attitudes (KSAs) of the workforce needed in an organization to boost the organization's workforce capabilities.

Who are the usual participants of the trainings?

The profile of participants may depend upon the targeted goals and objectives of the training laid down. The learning management team may invite partners and intermediaries, local government units, department field offices, bureaus, and services, public and private organizations, non-profit organizations, and so on, with the aim of achieving the training session objectives that are anchored to the organizational outcomes of the Department.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc. (PASWI) and Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc. (ALSWADOPI) on 22 April 2022. The partnership aims to both parties to work together more closely towards one common goal which is to improve the delivery of social welfare and enhance the social work profession.

The L&D needs of DSWD where partners can support will depend on the results of the Learning Needs/ Capacity Needs Assessment, approved IDCB Plan submitted by the DSWD Central and Field Offices, IDP submitted by employees to HRMDS, Annual Thrust and Direction of DSWD for the officials and Staff, and the resources needed from the partners.
