Knowledge Exchange Center (KEC)
The Knowledge Exchange Center (KEC) serves as the repository of information and knowledge related to social welfare and development, and social protection. It supports the mission and vision of the Department through facilitating collection, organization and sharing of information resources in different formats which aims to bring about strong collaboration, better decisions, and higher productivity.
Social Welfare and Development Center for Asia and the Pacific (SWADCAP)
The Social Welfare and Development Center for Asia and the Pacific (SWADCAP) is one of DSWD’s training facilities and is considered to be the main and largest, to date. SWADCAP has function rooms that accommodate various DSWD activities organized by different Central Offices/Bureaus/ Services as well as nearby DSWD Field Offices like NCR, CALABARZON, and MIMAROPA. Other government and non-government agencies’ events are also catered upon availability, considering priority for DSWD activities.
Are the courses/ training free?
Yes. All of the training and courses provided by the Social Welfare Institutional Development Bureau are free of charge. However, some trainings may require participants to deliver certain outputs in order to qualify for a certificate.
Are there trainings/courses accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Units?
Yes. Typically, training, courses and LDIs developed are submitted to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for CPD accreditation, if they fall under the following types of interventions: Formal learning, non-formal learning, informal learning, self-directed learning, online learning activities, professional work experience and attendance to conventions and conferences by accredited organizations.
What are common topics of the LDIs?
Based on previous data, some of the LDIs conducted in the past have concentrated on blended learning, implementation, program management and navigation of collaboration tools and technical platforms in the context of new normal, among others. The topics of Learning Development Interventions (LDIs), however, are usually formulated and designed depending on the identified needs of the stakeholders through environmental scanning and learning needs assessment sessions.
