On 09 October 2024, The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the Social Welfare Institutional Development Bureau (SWIDB) held a knowledge sharing session on Women Empowerment and Social Protection participated by non-governmental representatives from Cambodia at the Magiliw Auditorium, DSWD Central Office. The event was led by the Standards and Capacity Building Group Undersecretary Denise FB Bernos-Bragas, together with Atty. Justin Caesar Anthony D. Batocabe, Director, and OIC-Assistant Bureau Director Precilia A. Docuyanan, both from Social Welfare Institutional Development Bureau (SWIDB). 

The purpose of the activity is to explore best practices, challenges, and recommendations of DSWD to different programs and services such as the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program and Role of Pantawid in Empowering Women, Technical Assistance and Resource Augmentation, Listahanan as a mechanism for targeting clients, Social Pension (SocPen) for Indigent Senior Citizens, Programs on Women being implemented and monitored by the DSWD, Sustainable Livelihood Program and social technologies on women. 

In her opening message, Undersecretary Denise FB Bernos-Bragas highlighted that this knowledge sharing would not only enhance the understanding of each other’s work but also provided opportunity for future collaborations. The interactive discussions allowed participants to engage in a fruitful exchange of views and ideas, facilitating a better comprehension of the Departments’ strategic goals, mission, and vision

The DSWD KM Portal is a dynamic facility founded to promote the development and sharing of knowledge within the DSWD and its partners. The Portal has vast collection of DSWD Knowledge Products (KPs) and other learning resources on social welfare and social protection.
