The research study, published in 2006; aims to find out what the perceptions of Filipino mothers and fathers are of their roles as parents and the practices they undertake within their roles. 

Through a mix of structured interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs) and case studies, the researchers from the UP Social Action and Research for Development Foundation, Inc. gathered data that painted a picture of the roles of Filipino parents and their child-bearing practices.
