In CY 2013, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through its Social Technology Bureau (STB) conducted a research entitled "Sama-Bajau Reintegration Process and Intervention Strategies: Settling the Social Preparation Account," in partnership with the University of the Philippines-Asian Center, the lead of the Research Committee of the Task Force Sama-Bajau. The study aimed to determine the factors that facilitate and/or challenge/hinder the successful integration of the Sama-Bajau in a new environment/community and recommend a workable framework for public-private partnership for the reintegration of Sama-Bajau.
