DSWD Glossary of Social Welfare and Development Terms

This Glossary is created to ensure that the Department will have a leveled-off understanding in terms of accuracy and consistency of definitions and branding among similar topics. This further establishes that the terms will be used and interpreted correctly that they should be. The document is crafted in collaboration with various offices, bureaus, services, units, and field offices who worked on their shared knowledge on social welfare and development terms that are commonly used in the Department. This Glossary is updated every two years to ensure its relevance to the social work community.
