Knowledge Management (KM)

The performance of a CGS member is evaluated based on the feedback received from stakeholders who were provided with technical assistance. 
Send a letter of request to the CBS/U at the Field Office or to SWIDB at the Central Office to invite a CGS member as a resource person or subject matter expert.
KNOWLEDGE SHARING SESSIONS (KSS) refers to the general term covering all types of activities held within the agency where knowledge sharing takes place. These events include conferences, fora, seminars, meetings, or brown-bag sessions. There are two types of KSS within the DSWD: those that deal with big groups, and those that deal with small groups.  
Examples of big group KSS include: All variants of the Social Welfare and Development Forum (SWD Forum) per MC No. 11, s. 2008 Program review and evaluation workshops (to follow process and requirements as per Administrative  Order No. 9, series of 2019) Other fora-, conference-, or summit-type activities not covered by the SWD Forum guidelines excluding trainings and skills enhancement
Examples of small group KSS include: Meetings Brown bag sessions Lessons learned meetings or sessions (e.g. cliniquing) Case conferences Group mentoring/coaching sessions Other similar small-group activities not mentioned above
No. Social work books are physically present at the KEC where DSWD employees can borrow extra copies and external users can read . Only corporate knowledge materials of the Department are digitized and made available in the KM Portal.   

Partnership

Partners of DSWD are composed of organizations catering to SWD program development and implementation, individuals with expertise at capacity building, and research and development with the following specific descriptions: Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) -registered organizations/agencies within the region providing/conducting capacity building programs on social welfare and development; Academic institutions providing social work and social welfare and development education; Government agencies which mandate and services are related to social welfare and development;… Read more
The goals of partnership are the following: Provide a learning environment through capacity building programs for stakeholders to increase their competence on SWD; Collaboration between and among Social Welfare and Development practitioners that are engaged with learning and capacity building; and Utilize intensified social welfare and development research in developing capacity building programs to respond to the needs of social welfare and development stakeholders and contribute to the enhancement of the Social Work curriculum
Partners are expected to align its vision with that of the Department. Thus, its results should contribute to the improvement of competencies and empowerment of Social Welfare and Development (SWD) Stakeholders for them to deliver the highest quality of social welfare and development programs and services.
LSP refers to an individual, a group of individuals,  units or organizations within or outside DSWD  who provide interventions or initiatives that aim to capacitate through direct provision of L&D and or facilitation (AO 18 s 2019). This may include the academe and other training institutes that provide capability building interventions focusing on the progression of SW career development tracks, it also refers to organizations that provide capability building interventions that focus on compliance to standards of SWD programs and services implementation. Yes, an individual can become a learning service provider as long he/she meets the requirements Education/Expertise - Background or area of specialization, Experience - proven record that can substantiate any claims to the experience or skill and preferably with documented outcomes Suitability/Aptness - fitness for the tasks or role sustainability; and Integrity - absence of critical incidents that might otherwise tarnish or put to question the person's credibility, character, ethical behavior or intellectual integrity as a learning service provider (AO 18, s 2019)

The L&D needs of DSWD where partners can support will depend on the results of the Learning Needs/ Capacity Needs Assessment, approved IDCB Plan submitted by the DSWD Central and Field Offices, IDP submitted by employees to HRMDS, Annual Thrust and Direction of DSWD for the officials and Staff, and the resources needed from the partners.

Capability Building (CB)

The profile of participants may depend upon the targeted goals and objectives of the training laid down. The learning management team may invite partners and intermediaries, local government units, department field offices, bureaus, and services, public and private organizations, non-profit organizations, and so on, with the aim of achieving the training session objectives that are anchored to the organizational outcomes of the Department.
Apart from training, other modes of interventions that are usually being conducted to support and facilitate learning and development are seminars, workshops, skills enhancement sessions, and knowledge-sharing activities. In general, these activities are systematically designed to increase and build the knowledge, skills, and attitudes (KSAs) of the workforce needed in an organization to boost the organization's workforce capabilities.
Based on previous data, some of the LDIs conducted in the past have concentrated on blended learning, implementation, program management and navigation of collaboration tools and technical platforms in the context of new normal, among others. The DSWD KM Portal is a dynamic facility founded to promote the development and sharing of knowledge within the DSWD and its partners. The Portal has vast collection of DSWD Knowledge Products (KPs) and other learning resources on social welfare and social protection.
